Costa Rican performance artist and curator whose practice operates across multiple disciplines and communities of belonging. Their performance work investigates the duality between classical movement studies and the choreographies embedded in everyday life, centering the body as a site of decolonial inquiry. A member of the International House of Elle within Ballroom underground culture, María’s practice is deeply rooted in the political and communal legacies of queer and trans artistic lineages. Their work moves fluidly between performance and curation, building spaces where multiple ways of knowing the body are held together.
